"Our midwife was out of town when I went into labor. The first time I met Sam and Jamie was when I was in the thick of the intense contractions and my body was starting to push at our planned home birth. As soon as I saw Sam's face, I felt complete peace and comfortability. They were both clearly in control of the environment without intruding into our space. I had some complications following the birth of my daughter in December, and Sam and Jamie handled the situation with expertise and a calm sense of urgency. My daughter and I are both doing well today, thanks to them. I highly recommend them."

"UM, JUST WOW. I have put off writing this review because I have literally not been able to find words to describe my experience with Solstice. This team is exactly who you want supporting you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They held space for every question, thought, fear, emotion, doubt, etc. that comes with the journey or growing life. As the pregnant person, I was technically their client, but they treated my husband with the same respect and care, knowing that he too was experiencing brand new experiences and emotions. I felt in control on my body and birth experience at every moment with them. With each choose I had to make on this journey, they presented all sides of information unbiased and never judged a choice I made. I never felt pressured to do anything I was not comfortable with. Just pure love, support, and wisdom poured from this team from the very start to the very end. Even though I am no longer a patient of theirs, they keep there inboxes open and have been there for me even when I was wrestling with something past my 6 weeks postpartum appointment. Beyond grateful for such a beautiful team of midwives, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Jamie & Sam took us on late in the game after our initial midwife terminated her care with us abruptly. I say this was a call from God as I couldn’t picture giving birth with any other labor team. With lots of surprises, from prenatal care to birth, it was such a beautiful experience. I’m prepared to have more babies just so I can work with these ladies again they were that great and women I can see being in our lives forever. Not only are they incredibly professional and well educated on anything I challenged them with, they also gave such informative knowledge to pregnancy and what to expect during the labor and delivery process. My baby ended up being in the breech position when labor came about and was rumping by the time we knew! Without hesitation they did whatever they needed to do to ensure baby came out smoothly and it was the most amazing experience and easier than expected to deliver a breech babe. We also were blessed with a sweet surprise, some would call a miracle, when the baby turned out to be a boy instead of a girl! After a blood test we were sure we’d have a little girl, and Jamie & Sam couldn’t have introduced us to our son in any better way. We are so thankful to have met these women and will shout from the rooftops to recommend them to anyone we know!"

"Solstice midwifery team feels like a big warm hug. They are the perfect definition of caring. Jenna was present at my daughter's birth and she was very knowledgeable yet so calm when things did not go as planned. I would recommend her care anytime and would give birth again with her assistance - I felt so respected and empowered. Fun fact, my baby saw her 17 months later and out of a busy room, she went straight to her arms! Maybe she knew how much Jenna cared for her in her first hours!"

"Jamie was my midwife during the birth of my son and I can’t begin to say enough good things about her. She never once made me feel uncomfortable and always knew when to encourage me into new positions or breathing patterns. She ALWAYS made sure I was consenting to all touch and intervention. She encouraged me and made me feel powerful and capable and I’ll always be thankful for that feeling. As my son was born she balanced being hands off and yet caring for his safety beautifully, always asking permission before holding him for post birth cares. She remained calm and collected when my son didn’t breath after a few seconds earth side and knew exactly what to do with the ambubag to get his lungs opened up. I had some bleeding after birth that was borderline scary but she never once made me feel that way. She administered pitocin and monitored me closely! Due to her quick action my bleeding stopped and I was able to birth my placenta on my own. Sam has such an incredible energy as well and I had most of my prenatal visits with her. She was knowledgeable about herbal remedies/ pharmaceutical alternatives that are safe during pregnancy and that was extremely important to me. They are the perfect balance between the medical model of care we’re used to and the independence of a hands off birth that lets the mother feel in charge. Hire Solstice, you will never regret inviting these women into your birthing journey!"

"Jamie was recommended to me by another local Midwife who's books were full. I can not put into words just how absolutely thankful and honored I am to have received care during my first pregnancy, from Jamie. As a first time mom hoping for a home birth, she exceeded all of my expectations. My appointments with an OB prior, compared to my appointments with Jamie, did not compare. Jamie is so so knowledgeable - she took every opportunity to give me data/evidence on decisions I was making, never tried to sway me, had many valuable resources to share, and just met me with such patience and compassion. After 16 hours of labor at home, she recommended we do a hospital Transfer - it was absolutely the right call since things were not headed where they needed. I felt that although she had tried everything to help us along, she also knew the right timing and when to pivot. She initially told me she was not a 'home birth at all costs' Midwife and I just found her to be so professional and real. I can not speak highly enough about her team and practice."

"I had the incredible opportunity to work with midwife Jenna extensively throughout my third trimester. At the time, there was some uncertainty regarding my baby's due date and how it lined up with other logistical matters, but Jenna was always our family's rock in it all. After the very first appointment with her, I had the rest of my prenatal care scheduled with her. She is caring, thorough, empathetic, knowledgeable, and everything else you could possibly want in a midwife. Our appointments were always genuinly a fun time, and I looked forward to every single one. Some of the biggest reasons as to why I sought out midwifery care to begin with were my values for medical freedom and informed consent, both of which were easily met, and with open arms. I also really wanted a provider that I could see as more than a "provider." It was my first pregnancy, and it being such a vulnerable and powerful time, I wanted care that felt more than just medical obligation, it had to be personal and have genuine connection. If I couldn't envision myself being friends with and hosting my provider over coffee or dinner, I couldn't imagine them monitoring my pregnancy, let alone delivering my baby. I will happily hire the midwives at Solstice Midwifery in the future. We practically consider them part of the family, and completely trust them with the health and well-being of myself, and any future babies we may be blessed with."

"I can confidently say this is the best midwifery group! As a first-time mom, navigating pregnancy can feel overwhelming, but Jamie, Sam, and Jenna made me feel heard, supported, and loved every step of the way. They were always just a call or text away, with response times that were truly impressive. What stood out most to me was how consent-based their care is—they always asked if I was comfortable or okay with being touched during checkups. Their approach is a perfect balance of holistic and science-based care, which I absolutely loved. They never dismissed my concerns or made me feel belittled. Instead, they educated me thoroughly and supported both my partner and me during every prenatal visit. My partner only speaks Spanish, and Jamie was so understanding and accommodating of our situation, which meant the world to us. Their attentiveness, kindness, and knowledge truly made this experience special. Although I ended up needing a cesarean due to preeclampsia, I had a smooth transition to the hospital, and the team continued to check on me during and after the birth. At the hospital, I felt less in control of decisions (even though I technically had a say), which was quite a shift from the empowering, supportive care I received from the midwives. Still, I felt prepared for the process because of the education and reassurance they provided throughout my pregnancy. While I hope to experience a home birth next time, I know without a doubt I’ll be coming back to this team. They made me love being pregnant, and I can’t thank them enough for everything. "I have 3 kids and delivered both my girls with the help of Jamie, Samantha and Jenna. They are an incredible team and I was so blessed to have them. They listened to what I wanted and needed and pushed me beyond my limits. I delivered my firstborn at a hospital and ended up getting an epidural and having a more traumatic birth but with Jamie, Samantha and Jenna they really encouraged me to feel my body and push when I needed to. Samantha was incredible at getting me to try new positions to lower my girl. She also knew I needed to get out of the tub since it was slowing down my contractions. Without them, I don’t think I would’ve been able to labor without epidural which was my goal. I highly recommend them to all my pregnant friends!"

"Working with Jamie and Sam for my third pregnancy and home birth was a fantastic choice! As a doula, I am familiar with many home birth midwives, and I knew that their values and vibe were a perfect fit for me. At every appointment, I felt heard and respected. Every decision was made with full informed consent, and they took as much time as I needed to walk through everything. When my birthing time came, I felt held, seen, and safe. They helped to integrate my older kids into the experience perfectly, allowing me to fully focus on labor. My baby needed a little extra help to get out, and Sam knew exactly what to do. It's not easy for me to trust people in such a vulnerable, powerful time, and yet it felt natural. At about 24 hours postpartum, we discovered that my baby wasn't transferring enough milk, and they worked quickly to find donor milk and hold space for me while I processed and bottle fed my baby. These midwives care deeply for each client and provide the best individualized care. I highly recommend working with Solstice Midwifery!"

"Hands down my favorite birth was with Solstice! After my first two in a birth center, I knew this would be my last chance for a homebirth and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I transferred from another homebirth practice about halfway through my pregnancy and am so thankful for their patience and respect as I navigated my decisions. The prenatal care was amazing, thorough, and cozy in their office. It felt like meeting with very, very knowledgeable and caring friends. They laid out all options and supported me in my decisions. I felt like I had total autonomy the entire time I was in their care. My children were welcomed and included when they needed to tag along, and a midwife even came out to my house when I couldn’t go to them. The birth was beautiful. They were present but not intrusive. I felt so confident with their expertise guiding me and empowering me to birth my baby. Finally, my FAVORITE part, was the postpartum care. Having them come check on both me and my baby for the days and weeks after the birth was worth everything. I am just so so thankful for these midwives. I wish I could have more babies just to work with them again!!"

Before birth, she worked hard to understand what I hoped for and to understand the previous trauma from another birth. She brought a calm and encouraging energy to my birth. They ensured me and my baby were safe and walked me through every part of the process from prenatal to postnatal. They are VERY thorough and ensure the provide the best care to you and your family. I have been to other birthing centers and they hands down are superior! They were not only so helpful for me, but ALSO guiding my husband and my 1.5 yr old when welcoming our little man and transitioning to a family of four. I 10/10 recommend them! I had an uneventful pregnancy up until labor and she help me navigate the healthcare system and advocated on my behalf to ensure that I had (as close to) the birth that I wanted, even though we had to transition to a hospital. Her care and knowledge about birth and the birth process was always welcomed and non-judgmental. She was easy to talk to and ask questions and always laid out the options and what the benefits and drawbacks were of the decisions needed to be made. She clearly loves birth work and she gave wonderful advice and recommendations for just about every ailment, pain or issue that arose.
